Meet Devon
When I walk out the door to go to work I am excited. I love working with dogs and have for 20+ years. I have played many roles in life so I understand, sympathize, and adjust training to meet each clients needs without any judgement.
My love for dogs started as young as 17 when I worked as a bather in a groom salon. During my journey working with animals I have learned so many things and have worn many hats over the last 20+ years including a groomer, salon manager, veterinarian receptionist, veterinary technician, dog trainer, regional dog training manager, and a behavioral consultant.
When my training career began I was taught using balanced training methods, which can make a dog do anything however it doesn't look at why the dog is doing what they are doing or the aftermath of what punishment does to the canine's psyche.
Thank goodness I evolved and changed with the times! Science based researched has shown us that there are more effective methods than forcing the canine into submission. Knowing how their brains operate is the first step, just understanding why something is happening goes such a long way. Then helping guide them to change their mind. Doing so by boosting their confidence, building skills, and giving the canine directions to have a better outcome. This all comes with knowledge, rewards, and leadership. I want to teach you the steps to achieving a better relationship and communicating effectively with your dog!
